Cinecittà is the most famous film studio in Europe. It was founded in the outskirts of Rome in 1937 and today Google is celebrating its 77th anniversary with a doodle.

In addition to hosting many classic Italian movies, Cinecitta has also been home to big-budget movies produced by Hollywood studios since the 1950s including everything from epic historical movies to spaghetti westerns. Several TV shows such as the Italian version of Big Brother have also been shot at the premises.
